In my effort to live more mindfully and positively I have been reading a lot about the Law of Attraction and manifestation. I touched on this subject a few years ago when I was just beginning this new phase of my life (read that post here) and three years on it finally feels like everything is falling in to place. It's not been an easy journey but looking at the vision board I made back then I can see what I've achieved.
By focussing on how I wanted to feel rather than material possessions I have managed to create a state of calm. Space was a keyword on my vision board - I just wanted to feel more free, physically and mentally, and although it's taken time to adjust I really feel that I am. My home gives me a sense of freedom both inside and out - just being able to sit on the sofa, look out the window and see nothing but trees and the sky is so relaxing and the fact that I live in London and have a view is hugely satisfying.
This feeling is also prevalent in my work. No longer am I tied to a job I hate and dread going to - I'm lucky to be able to pick and choose jobs and to carve out my dream career in styling but I've worked really hard to get to this position. It has taken time and I've tried different things along the way but now I finally feel like I've found my niche. There is really something to be said for the old adage 'fake it 'til you make it'. For me I felt for so long like I was a fraud, changing careers was scary. When people would ask 'what do you do?' it took me a long time before I felt confident enough to say 'I'm an interior stylist' but, the more you say it the more you begin to believe it and from there confidence grows.
This is kind of how the Law of Attraction works. By focussing on what you really want, visualising it and imagining how you would feel once you have it I really believe anything can be possible. One thing the former Mr VKH would always tell me was 'you can be anything you want'. It's stuck with me because I think it's true. If you believe in yourself you can do anything.
So now I'm kicking things up a notch and I'm dreaming big! I love a list so I'm going to make one for 'Life Goals'. This is going to include things like places I want to visit, achievements I want to make. And I'm adding a picture of Jack Savoretti (sorry Bradley) on the vision board - well, if you don't ask, you don't get!
I hope this post may inspire you to try it for yourself and see what happens. I'm sending out positive vibes to you all!
