MAKING EASY GARDEN ORNAMENTS

I've been in my new flat for two weeks now, things are slowly starting to settle down and I'm beginning to feel normal again.  I have grand plans for the place and I'm keen to get going but I'm doing the sensible thing and living with it for a bit while I work out exactly what I want to do.

However, like a massive spot that is just begging to be squeezed, my urge to paint something has been growing steadily day by day until I could resist no more.  Upon tidying up my small patio area the other day I came across three rather odd skittle-shaped stones.  They looked like they were possibly part of a balustrade or something but, whatever, it didn't matter - they were getting painted!

After a quick trip to Homebase for some (more) tester pots I spent a blissful hour or so in the sun turning these discarded bits of stone in to 'art'.  I got a bit carried away and didn't just stop at painting, oh no.  I gilded them too, obviously.

What do you think?  They certainly make an interesting ornament.  Pointless, but interesting.  I have scratched my painting itch for the time being but, now I've got the gold leaf out, other found objects had better beware - I might go all King Midas on them!
