This week I began an exciting new venture - styling some of London's most inspiring and beautiful properties for The Plum Guide, a new hosting site that handpicks only the best homes that London has to offer.
'Hosting' is the new way to holiday - forget impersonal hotel rooms that all look the same. Air B 'n' B has paved the way for this type of accommodation but Plum properties are next level. Staying in a real home adds another dimension to your trip but staying in a Plum property enhances it even further. Only one in around every one hundred properties are awarded the Plum Star - think of it as the hosting equivalent of a Michelin Star - and it is given as a mark of careful evaluation.
Design aficionados will love the attention to detail: from artworks by Damien Hirst and Mark Rothko to the iconic furniture of Eero Saarinen and Mies van der Rohe, every Plum place has its highlights. As the lovely people at Plum happily admit, they have an "unhealthy obsession with design aesthetics, comfort standards, service levels and what makes a good holiday stay" so you are guaranteed a great place to stay.
You can see some of the images I styled on the Styling page, in the meantime here's a behind the scenes look:
